I recently was given some information about the use of Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia. Is there anyone who has used this drug and if so what was your experience with it? I recently started using Neurontin and I get some benefit, but it seems to bother my IBS. I also take Ultracet for pain but am interested in hearing more about Cymbalta.

Hi Karen,
A couple of months ago you replied to a question I had about fibro doctors in St. Louis. You mentioned being referred to a pain specialist. Can you tell me where you go? I really need someone to help with the pain or I will never make it through the holidays. Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it more than you know. Kathy |

Hi Kathy,
Yes I remember replying --- the St. Louis Pain Mgt. Center -- located at 777, S. New Ballas -- Dr. Malti Dav'e -- 314-432-PAIN (7246) -- good luck --- I still have lots of pain issues but feel she has helped me to manage some of the pain and issues |

I have been on Cymbalta now for about 5 weeks and am doing a lot better. I recommend it for the pain of fibromyalgia as I no longer have the pain in my feet and back in the early morning. Hope it helps anyone else who happens to try it. Good luck.

I was on Cymbalta. It didn't really do me any good. I actually ended up an another doctor and asked to be taken off. So far, Ultracet was the only thing that worked.

Yeah, I took Cymbalta for a while. It definitely, absolutely helped the pain for me, but the side effects weren't worth it. I couldn't get out of bed because of being so "stoned," for lack of a better word. All I could do was lie in bed staring at the wall---I couldn't even eat. Yeah, I absolutely felt no pain, but it made me a drooling idiot. I have strange sensitivities to many drugs, though, so I'm positive Cymbalta's just wonderful for many people...I just wish I was one of them!

I tried Cymbalta for a short, but it raised my blood pressure so I quit taking it. Teresa H.

I was prescribed Cymbalta and had to be taken off of it after 3 nights of use, due to extreme nightmares!

I have been on Cymbalta for about one year now. A few months ago I did not think The Cymbalta was working, so I went off of it. Boy was I wrong! I started feeling a lot of pain! I had not relized How much The Cymbalta was really working for me!
I am back on 60mg. of Cymbalta now & my pain has subsided some. Enough that it is worth while to take it. So, All in All Cymbalta has worked for me! Robin |
