Introduction
I have fibromyalgia, among other things, which makes my life feel pretty unmanageable at times. I'd like to meet people who understand what I'm going through and can direct me to help that I may be currently unaware is available.
When were you diagnosed? With what specifically? How old are you now?
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in April of 2008. I'm 34 now, but I've had noticeable symptoms since I was eight years old.
Are you willing to make a commitment to attend the Meetups even if you're not having the best day?
In general, yes, but I don't have a car right now, so that makes it more challenging, especially if the meeting place is far from me, but I shall strive to attend every one.
What Dr. do you see? What is His/Her specialty; Rheumatologist, PCP? Would you recommend him/her?
I saw a rheumatologist in Ohio, and , no, I wouldn't recommend him.
What treatments are you currently using? How effective have they been?
I am currently taking whole food supplements, and my energy level is improving incrementally. I can now cook most days and keep up with my dirty dishes. I still have big problems sleeping regularly, though.
