Author Gregg Piburn & Wife Sherrie will be our featured speakers at this year's Seattle FM/CFS/ME Awareness Day Symposium.

Gregg is the author of the book, "Beyond Chaos: One Man's Journey Alongside His Chronically Ill Wife." I've had the opportunity to attend a workshop by Gregg & Sherrie that was put on by the Arthritis Foundation year before last, and they're wonderful. Sherrie developed fibromyalgia and this book is Gregg's chronicle of how they dealt with their combined struggle. The book has been a favorite suggestion of mine for anyone who has a loved one who doesn't understand their journey adapting to a life with FM or any chronic illness and I'm THRILLED to be able to bring them both to Seattle for our Symposium.

I hope you will put Saturday, May 31, 2008 on your calendar right away (that's the weekend AFTER the Memorial Day holiday), and invite all your loved ones to come hear this educational symposium and these two warm, compassionate and humorous speakers.

They are not, of course, the only speakers, and more information about our other speakers will be forthcoming as I learn more. So far I know that we have one of the best fibro MDs in the area leading off the day, plus an occupational therapist, a nutritionist, a Social Security Disability lawyer, and a few other surprises you won't want to miss. Keep watching our website [http://groups.msn.com...] for more information (it's the best place to catch up-to-the-minute information).

We hope to have registration forms in the mail to you by mid-April, so if you're interested, drop me a line at valkiesel@comcast.net. Hope to hear from you soon!

I am anxious to read his book. I crashed very hard the year my husband & I were married (2003) had to leave my job, couldn't get in my activity and gained 120 lbs.! It was an ugly snowball but he has been incredibly accepting & supportive so I feel for he & I to read the book would be great. Hope to meet you soon! Heather
